Veteran’s Day Art Show

  • Art take-in will occur on October 26 and 27th 10:00am-3:00pm.
  • The Opening Ceremony will be Friday, November 1st, 2024. The doors open at 6:00pm and the opening ceremony starts at 7:00pm.
  • The show will be taken down on November 23rd and 24th.
  • The event show days are November 1-24, 2024.

19 Categories of Art for the NMVA Art Show with 3 prizes per category:

01 – OIL PAINTING: Two-dimensional works in oil or enamel
02 – ACRYLIC PAINTING: Two-dimensional works in acrylics
03 – WATER BASED MEDIA: Two-dimensional works in water based pigment
04 – PRINTS: Printed art ONLY created by hand etching/carving the surface of wood, metal, vinyl, plastic, stone or silk screening; prints of other original work will NOT be accepted in the category
05 – DRAWING: Original works created with pencil, charcoal or similar drawing media on any surface
06 – PASTEL DRAWING: Works produced on paper or other media using recognized pastel drawing techniques
07 – INK: Liquid ink pigment applied by pen or brush on any surface
08 – PHOTOGRAPHY: Any image initially captured through the use of a camera. Images may be produced by chemical or digital process, in color or black and white, and may be enhanced through mechanical and/or computer technology
09 – DIGITAL ART: Any image whose TOTAL creation required the use of computer-based tools to create the final image; photography that has been manipulated on a computer is NOT digital art
10 – SCULPTURE: Three-dimensional works in metal, stone, wood, resin, or other material
11 – GLASS: Functional or decorative original art, not jewelry, created by the use of glass (i.e. stained glass, hand blown or fused)
12 – FIBER: Original wearable or decorative works created on or with fiber
13 – LEATHER: Any works created on or with leather
14 – CERAMICS: Decorative or functional
15 – JEWELRY: Designed and created solely by the artist
16 – WOODWORK: Original furniture, scroll saw, or carving
17 – MIXED-MEDIA: Any combination of two or more media
18 – COLLABORATIVE ART: Created by two or more individual artists
19 – LITERATURE COVER ART: Design of a book jacket by NMVA member, regardless of author, using any media in above categories and identified as the artist on the book copyright page (no 2-year limit applies)
