My first career enabled me to see the world, experiencing the beauty of many countries, their people and culture. I have met a tiger face-to-face in the elephant gras of South Asia, climbed the fjord cliffs of Norway, seen artic wolves chasing mice in the snow, and watched the flight of an eagle over our Ship Rock. I have also experienced, firsthand, the death and destruction of war, and of how inhuman humans can become. My art derives from that unique pallet of life.
Whether I portray and eagle or the emotions engendered by the sight of our magnificent flag, my goal is always to build a rapport with the viewer. I hope to help them understand the importance of life which surrounds them and to enhance the significance of my creations. By increasing the understanding of others, by creating beauty, I follow the beliefs of my ancestors. They believed that we must maintain a balance in our lives and the world. By creating positive beauty, I try to help balance the negative things that surround us.
I offer to you my art and an old blessing, “May you always walk in in beauty.”
